Being a Metro Detroit Wedding Photographer is such a cool job.  Before we even get to the wedding images, there is the engagement session, and, the engagement photos.

Ans as cool as it is for the engaged couple to go and shoot some awesome engagement photos, ones to be framed for their parents, a few for themselves, one maybe one for the Save The Date card,  your photographer has another motive, or at least this Metro Detroit Wedding Photographer certainly has.

We don’t simply want to take engagement photos – we want to capture the essence of you, our subjects. When we say capture the essence, we mean take photographs that when viewed by those who know you best, the response will be something along the lines of,  “oh, that is SO them!” When that happens, it’s considered a successful photo shoot.

Any Metro Detroit Wedding Photographer worth their salt should be focused on working closely with you, finding out what you like best, how you want to be photographed. We want to work with you,  see what your strengths are.  Avoid any weaknesses. It would be foolish and short sighted for us to photograph you for the first time on your wedding day, to later discover that you left side is not your best side. It’s too late at that point.

An engagement photos session is a hugely beneficial trial run. We want to see what makes you look your best, and more importantly, we want to find you what you think makes you look your best. After the session, we will sit down and look through the engagement photos to get your feedback.

Another big benefit is that when your wedding rolls around, you are much more relaxed in front of our cameras, because you have already gotten over your nervousness with us. The focus on your engagement photos is so important.  If you love those, your wedding photographs will be better than if you went into the wedding day with us cold. It’s such an important exercise.
